Alex sent me these great pictures from his first area, Aveiro, Portugal. He spent two transfers there. (July 1st - November 10th)

I am still breathing...
It has been a month since I have posted anything on my blog.
You would think I have been doing NOTHING worth writing about. NOT TRUE. With out-of-town guests, Thanksgiving and a Wedding. We have been very busy. Stay tuned for pictures from Carly and Davi's wedding. Boy do I have some stories to tell.

Seattle
October 25th
One of my favorites days of the year.
Not because it's two months until Christmas.
NO, NO. Because it is Mark's birthday.
James gave us the cooks tour of Seattle.
Our first stop was Volunteer Park.
It has the coolest water tower that you
can climb to the top.
The kids found this cool sculpture that
looked like a "Do-nut". My monkeys sure
had fun climbing on it.
Next to Volunteer Park is the Cemetery where Bruce Lee and his son, Brandon Lee are laid to rest.
We went to lunch at "Dick's Burgers". They have the best milkshakes, homemade fries and hamburgers. After lunch James took us to the Fremont District. Under I-5 lives a "troll".
(We left the camera in the car)
Kaitlin and James had a great time climbing all over the troll.
In Fremont we found this cool sculpture of JP Patches.
JP was a clown who had a morning and afternoon cartoon program.
It was Mark's favorite show.
Later we took Mark to Fuji Japanese Steakhouse.
I regretfully didn't take any pictures.
Mark had a great birthday!
We love him!

Today
Part of my morning routine is to have the Today Show on. I hate to admit it, but I have been watching Matt, Meridith, Anne and Al for years. This morning was no different and as usual they had a human interest story at the 7:30am hour. I was trying to rush Kaitlin and Dana out the door and was just about to turn off the television when the story being told caught my attention. It was about Christian and Stephanie Nielson, a couple from Mesa, AZ, who were in a terrible private plane crash on August 16, 2008. Stephanie's siblings were being interviewed about her blog that inspires many readers to be better parents and friends. I have put links to Stephanie and Courtney Jane's blogs. Read them and be inspired by the faith of a wonderful family. If at all possible donate a dollar per member in your family. It will help the Nielson's pay for their expenses as they recover. And remember them in your prayers. I love you all. Sue

My Little Lou
I would like to introduce you to my baby. No, not Kaitlin, our dog, Lucy. She is 15 months old, she joined our family on July 3, 2007. It is amazing how fast this year has flown by. Lucy is a cocapoo, cocker spaniel - poodle mix. She is the sweetest dog I know. I took her to work with me yesterday and she loved it. She slept under my desk on the floor. It was so fun to have her with me all day. Today when I was getting ready for work she was right next to the door ready to go with me. She had a day of beauty today. Here is a picture of Lucy sporting a "summer cut". Isn't she sweet!
